Introduction:
Our client, a chocolate manufacturer, came to us to customize a unique mold in the shape of ‘Berry.’ The primary requirement was that the mold look natural and realistic at a glance.
Approach:
The correct grade of food-safe silicone was necessary because this mold was meant for chocolates. The plan was to create a mold resembling berries so the chocolate would appear like real berries when taken out.
It was essential to ensure the chocolate could be removed from the silicone molds easily and without damaging the delicate berry shape during demolding.
Product Development Strategy:
The complete design process was carried out in-house, and the design team had to consider various factors, such as core punch design, machining, and the chocolate removal process.
To replicate the complete appearance of the berries, we had to reverse-engineer the berry data and manufacture the inserts based on the concept provided.
Our design team did exceptionally well in both product and mold design. This product didn’t require prototyping since we used precise 3D imaging.
Our team's challenge was to machine the inserts in the steel mold, which were supposed to give the berries their shape. Our team found a solution by machining the inserts in multiple settings to get the desired shape of the berry in the mold.
