Mr.Derek Smith of IPC Guard approached us to manufacture safety equipment for his Dust Abatement System Facility. His primary requirement was a shield to protect the employees from flying debris while drilling and collecting residue like dust, paint, and concrete fragments.
This requirement was mainly to avoid contamination of the air and surroundings, especially hospitals, which were mainly his clients.
Approach:
Since this is safety equipment, its design requires precision and foolproof manufacturing. Our engineers designed the equipment as a hand-slider sleeve/shield with a gate, which required meticulous planning to ensure there was no scope for errors. After thorough discussions and multiple alterations, we started the development process with the client’s approval of the drawing.

Our engineering team made a user-friendly hand-sliding sleeve that could collect dust and debris at the point of origin.
Some of the challenges that our team had to tackle were in terms of the following:
- Choosing the suitable grade of Rubber
- Correct thickness so that it's durable
- Making sure the measurements are realistic, like the radius of the circle
- Proper placement of the cuts
